  • Condition: Minor scratches, dings, blemishes typical of a drum her age. Very little pitting of the chrome. Refer to pictures. Hoops have dings but function fine.

    Description

    GRAIL ALERT:  Vintage 1976 Ludwig model LM402 6.5"x14" snare drum
    with the RARE BLUE OVAL "RELIABLE ANTI-GALVANIC" sticker intact on the inside of the shell
    .  She wears pointy Blue and Olive Badge #1350467.  Beautiful condition with minor blemishes and scratches to be found.  VERY little pitting to be found on the chrome, most of which is confined to the panels to the right of the strainer.  Of course, this drum sounds as you would expect, and tunes up nicely.  Both heads spin freely (the top is just a hair tight) and the hardware works smoothly.  Produced in the Chicago facility in 1976.  This drum is a fantastic example as to why the LM402 is so sought-after world-wide.  Oh yeah, almost forgot:  "BONHAM"!
    Our only complaints on this LM402 are that the badge was badly bent and very loose when we got her, so we did our best to flatten the badge and re-tighten the grommet.  The tension rod washers were missing and thus are not original.  The hoops are the original 1.6MM thick, and the top hoop has a number of dings (pictured) but still functions just fine.
